Quick Answer: The best GMK keycaps for most buyers are the GMK CYL WoB (white on black). It’s GMK’s own house colorway, in stock at GMK’s German webshop from €89 to €139 depending on kit size, and at Divinikey for $165. For a designer set that ships now, GMK Dracula V2.0 is $124.99 at Omnitype, tied for the cheapest in-stock GMK base kit we found among GMK’s North American premier vendors. If you want GMK quality in PBT rather than ABS, the GMK Foundation MTNU base is $185 and in stock at NovelKeys. Before you buy, check the label: GMK CYL sets are ABS in Cherry profile, while GMK MTNU sets are PBT in a medium-height retro profile.

GMK electronic design is a family-run German company founded in 1992 by Manfred Güntner and Wolfgang Kredler in Wernberg-Köblitz, Bavaria. According to GMK’s company history, it added double-shot keycaps to its product line in 2011. GMK calls its CYL series “the classic and industry benchmark” among double-shot keycaps, and “GMK-style” is how many cheaper PBT sets are sold. Most GMK sets are sold through group buys, which makes the “best GMK keycaps” question tricky. The set you like may have sold out three years ago, or it may not ship until 2027. So we compared what you can actually order, using GMK’s own webshop and product pages plus the store catalogs of NovelKeys, CannonKeys, Omnitype, Divinikey and KBDfans. Prices and stock below are from November 4, 2026.

By the numbers: Across the GMK listings of GMK’s three North American premier vendors (NovelKeys, CannonKeys and Omnitype, 131 GMK keycap listings in total), 22 distinct sets had a base kit that ships now on November 4, 2026, plus two open preorders. In-stock base kits ranged from $124.99 (Omnitype’s Dracula V2.0 and Redline) to $186.99 (CannonKeys’ Houhai). GMK’s own product pages say both lines use 1.5 mm thick double-shot keycaps, and GMK claims more than 1,000 colors in its palette. The same base kit can differ by up to $40 between authorized vendors: GMK CYL GREG 2 was $185 at NovelKeys and $145 at KBDfans.

CYL vs MTNU: two GMK lines, two plastics

GMK now sells two keycap lines, and the difference matters more than the colorway. GMK’s CYL page calls the series “the original ‘Cherry profile’”, made from double-shot ABS. Its MTNU page calls MTNU “the latest addition to our keycap portfolio”: double-shot “100% pure PBT” in a profile that is “medium-high” with spherical shapes and curved edges.

One catch: vendor listings don’t always agree with GMK. CannonKeys’ page for GMK MTNU Welles lists the profile as “Cherry”, while GMK’s own shop lists the MTNU shape for its MTNU sets. Go by the CYL or MTNU in the set name and by GMK’s own product page. For more on how Cherry, OEM, SA and other shapes compare, see our keycap profiles explained guide.

1. GMK CYL WoB: Best Overall

GMK CYL WoB (White on Black)

Best overall · CYL double-shot ABS · five base sizes · €89-139 at GMK, $165 Grande at Divinikey
  • GMK's own house set (designed by "GMK Lab"), with black keycaps and white legends. It's the one GMK keeps in stock rather than producing once for a group buy. GMK's webshop listed it as available with 1 to 3 days delivery on November 4.
  • Five base sizes at GMK, VAT included: 70% (89 keycaps) €89, TKL (110) €99, Fullsize (135) €115, Exotic (110) €119, Grand (156) €139. Plus Numpad (25 keycaps), Icon Mods (19), Row5 (30), Command, Colevrak, Retro Extension and 12 international and language kits.
  • In the US, Divinikey had the Grande base in stock at $165 (Fullsize $135, TKL $115 and 70% $105 were sold out). NovelKeys lists it at $120 to $160 but had every size sold out.
  • GMK's FAQ lists the USA among the countries its webshop ships to, and its German shop shows free shipping on orders over 125 euros.

WoB is the safe GMK pick because it’s the set you can rebuy later. If you damage a keycap or switch to a bigger board, GMK still sells the kits. With a designer set that’s rarely true. Per keycap, the Fullsize kit is the best deal at about €0.85, and the 89-key 70% kit is the worst at €1.00. The black-legend reverse, GMK CYL BoW, was in stock at Divinikey in the Grande ($160) and 70% ($105) sizes.

2. GMK Dracula V2.0: Best Value Designer Set

GMK Dracula V2.0 (CYL)

Best value · CYL double-shot ABS · $124.99 base at Omnitype · in stock
  • Based on the Dracula color scheme designed by Zeno Rocha, per Omnitype's listing: dark grayish-blue keycaps with blue-purple-gray alphas and pastel and neon accents.
  • Three "Core" base kits at $124.99 each. Nightmode Core and Git Core were in stock on November 4, and Main Core was sold out.
  • Add-ons in stock: Highlight accents $57.99, ERR! $53.99, Extension $52.99, Ligature accent mods $49.99, Whitespace accent spacebars $36.99. Sold out: 40s, macOS Command, Macro and International kits.

At $124.99, Dracula V2.0 ties GMK Redline ($124.99) as the cheapest in-stock designer GMK base kit at GMK’s three US premier vendors. It’s the obvious pick for a programmer’s board, and it comes with more add-on modules than most sets. Omnitype’s other in-stock CYL sets are priced close by: Tuzi $129.99, Blurple $129.99, 8008 2 $129.99, DMG 3 $134.99, Botanical 2 $134.99, DUALSHOT 2 $139.99 and Symbiote $139.99.

3. GMK Foundation (MTNU): Best PBT GMK

GMK Foundation, MTNU Base

Best PBT · MTNU double-shot PBT · $185 base at NovelKeys · in stock
  • One of the few GMK sets sold in both lines at once. NovelKeys lists a CYL base at $170 (sold out) and an MTNU base at $185 (in stock), plus CYL accents at $60 and MTNU accents at $65 (both sold out).
  • MTNU is GMK's double-shot PBT line, so you get GMK color matching on a plastic that resists shine better than ABS.
  • NovelKeys says GMK will produce an international kit for both CYL and MTNU, to be sold on GMK's own store once it's made.

Pick Foundation if you want GMK’s two-shot legends but would rather not watch ABS get glossy. Be aware of the trade-off: MTNU’s medium-height profile won’t feel like the classic CYL Cherry profile, and the PBT version costs $15 more for the same design.

4. GMK CYL GREG 2: Best Classic-Colors Rerun

GMK CYL GREG 2 (Gregory R2)

Classic GMK stock colors · CYL double-shot ABS · $145 at KBDfans, $185 at NovelKeys · in stock
  • The rerun of GMK Greg after what NovelKeys calls a 5-year hiatus, "in the same classic GMK stock colors but a slightly updated kitting".
  • Base $185 and Novelties $65 at NovelKeys, both in stock. KBDfans had the base at $145, a $195 base + novelties bundle and a $25 deskmat in stock, with its separate novelties kit sold out.

GREG 2 shows the biggest price gap we found for one GMK base kit: $40 between two vendors on GMK’s authorized list. KBDfans is on GMK’s authorized list for China, so compare the landed cost with shipping before assuming it’s cheaper. NovelKeys’ site also showed a warehouse-move notice on November 4, warning that fulfillment and support “may be delayed for the next several days”.

5. GMK CYL Prussian Alert: Best for Cyrillic Legends

GMK CYL Prussian Alert

Cyrillic option · CYL double-shot ABS · $175 at NovelKeys, $160 at KBDfans · in stock
  • NovelKeys: Base $175, Cyrillic Alphas $105 and an "Alertless" alternative alpha kit $55 in stock. Extension $75 sold out.
  • KBDfans: Base $160 in stock, plus bundles at $231 (base + extension) and $380 (base, extension, alphas and Alertless).

KBDfans’ listings hint at what waiting for stock costs. On its in-stock GMK “extras”, KBDfans shows a compare-at price about 10% below the current price: Prussian Alert’s base is $160 against $145, the Gonzales TKL base $154 against $140, and Combobreaker’s base $165 against $150. That lower figure looks like the original group-buy price, so joining a group buy saves roughly 10% at this vendor, in exchange for the wait.

6. GMK MTNU Dasher: Best Open Group Buy

GMK MTNU Dasher

Open group buy · MTNU double-shot PBT · $160 base (compare-at $180) at NovelKeys · preorder
  • A blue retro set by designer nilslorand. GMK says it's inspired by the Data General Dasher keyboard and the keyboard from the TV series "Severance".
  • Group buy runs November 4 to December 6, 2026, per GMK's shop. NovelKeys lists Base $160 (compare-at $180) and Novelties $60 (compare-at $70).
  • NovelKeys gives an estimated arrival of Q1 2027. GMK's own shop says "Available from Q2/2027".
  • GMK's shop lists the US vendor as NovelKeys, with Prototypist (UK), Oblotzky (EU), Geon (KR), KeebzNCables (Oceania) and Typist Club (CN) for other regions.

When GMK and the vendor give different ship dates, plan on the later one. If you want an MTNU set without a wait, Foundation (pick #3) is the in-stock option.

7. GMK CYL Blanks: Cheapest Real GMK

GMK CYL Blanks

Cheapest GMK base · CYL double-shot ABS · $95 at CannonKeys · group buy to Nov 16
  • No legends at all, just colored keycaps. Black Base $95, Beige Base $95, Accents $35, designed by mcmcmc.
  • Group buy live October 16 to November 16, 2026, with an ETA of late Q1 2027, per CannonKeys. Other vendors listed are RNDKBD (CA), Prototypist (UK), GEON (KR), TypistClub (CN), iLumkb (SG), KeebzNCables (AU) and Oblotzky (EU).

At $95, Blanks is the lowest base-kit price for real GMK keycaps we found at a US vendor. The catch is that blank keycaps assume you touch-type. If you’d rather have legends and no wait, GMK’s own WoB 70% kit costs €89 direct from Germany.

The pattern from these listings is three to seven months from the end of a group buy to stock. Taiga R2 closed on March 27 with a Q3 estimate and was on the shelf by November. Returns are the other difference. NovelKeys accepts returns of unused items in original packaging within 14 days of delivery. Divinikey allows 30 days for new, unopened items, but its policy lists group-buy and clearance items as final sale.

Keycap counts and prices are from GMK’s CYL WoB listing. Most designer sets in these catalogs sell one “Base” kit plus add-ons (extension, numpad, 40s, novelties, international), not five sizes. Before you order, compare the kit render with your board’s bottom row, right Shift and any extra keys. GMK lists compatibility with the MX cross stem only, so GMK keycaps won’t fit Topre, Alps or Kailh Choc v1 low-profile switches. If you’re not sure what size your board is, our keyboard sizes explained guide counts the keys per layout.

Where to buy genuine GMK

GMK publishes its own list of authorized sellers. For North America it names three premier vendors, NovelKeys, CannonKeys and Omnitype, plus authorized vendors including Divinikey, Keebsforall, Mechanical Keyboards, Apos, Bowl Keyboards, Mekibo, Norbauer and TypeMachina in the US, and Deskhero, Keybay, Mino Keys and Unikeys in Canada. Oblotzky Industries is GMK’s European premier vendor, and KBDfans is on the list for China. GMK also sells direct from its own webshop at gmk.net, which takes PayPal, Mastercard, Visa and Apple Pay.

If a listing uses the GMK name but the seller isn’t on that list, treat it as a GMK-style clone until proven otherwise. Clones can still be good keycaps. Our best PBT keycaps guide covers Cherry-profile PBT sets that copy the GMK look for much less money.

How to choose GMK keycaps

The bottom line

GMK CYL WoB is the best GMK keycap set for most people. It’s GMK’s own in-stock colorway, €89 to €139 direct from Germany or $165 for the Grande kit at Divinikey, and you can rebuy it later. GMK Dracula V2.0 at $124.99 is the cheapest designer set you can get without waiting. GMK Foundation MTNU at $185 is the in-stock option if you want GMK’s double-shot legends on PBT instead of ABS. Before paying $175 to $185 for a base kit, check KBDfans and the other vendors on GMK’s authorized list. The same set cost up to $40 less elsewhere on November 4. If you’re joining a group buy, plan on three to seven months and no returns.

Prices, stock and dates checked on November 4, 2026, against GMK’s CYL and MTNU product pages, company history, authorized-vendor list, webshop listings (CYL WoB kit sizes and euro prices, MTNU Dasher) and shop FAQ, plus the store catalogs of NovelKeys, CannonKeys, Omnitype, Divinikey and KBDfans, and the return policies of NovelKeys and Divinikey. Keycap stock changes daily, so check the live listing before you buy.
